Card Office Cropping Feature

RemotePhoto Butler (RPB) is great at capturing high-quality ID photos. As with all software, there are certain instances where the input data can be unexpected, and RPB may not be able to accommodate perfect cropping for every photo. If you are running into this issue, you can actually manually crop a red or yellow photo.

Read on to learn how you can do that!

Photo Cropping Guidelines

The two biggest requirements for cropping from RPB are the following:

  • Room above the head- RemotePhoto Butler looks at the photo to see if there is enough open space above the person's head. This is to prevent cutting off the top of anyone's head in the ID photo. Make sure to leave a little bit of space above the head.

  • Bottom of Photo at Collarbone- RemotePhoto Butler looks at the bottom of the photo to make sure it lines up with the cardholder's collarbone. This ensures the neck is included in the photo, and it isn't just a floating head in the ID photo. 😬

Starting on the pending page, locate the red or yellow status photo you want to crop manually.

You will be presented with a screen showing details about the photo (Classification score).

Click on the photo itself to begin manually cropping.

You can now crop to match the "Photo Cropping Guidelines" (explained above) and click Save Changes

*note: in this case, it likely gave a bad classification score because the top of the head is being cut off. This is a common issue.*

To see the changes to your photo, click refresh and then click Current Photo

And here you can see your newly cropped photo

Now, after looking back at the photo, you can see the classification score has improved due to better exactness to the photo requirements
